Finding an author you love can be difficult, but waiting several months or even years for them to publish new releases in your favorite series is even harder. Luckily, for fans of Lorenzo Pelosini and his “Demons” series of interactive novels, which are published in installments every few weeks, the waiting isn’t quite so hard. In fact, Pelosini recently announced that the third novel in the series, “Demons of New York, Vol. 2,” will be published this Autumn.

Set in New York City, the “Demons” series follows two female protagonists who find themselves caught up in a war between Hell and Heaven, divided between two moral worlds. In the series’ first installment, “Demons in High Heels,” readers explore New York’s high-profile fashion industry alongside Lily, a young woman trying to find her way through a series of unfolding moral dilemmas.

Beyond the originality of the content, these novels are truly unique due to their format as interactive stories. Readers can make numerous decisions on behalf of the protagonist, further aligning with the world of Angels or Demons as they find their place in the fast and frantic world of New York City.

Pelosini writes these novels over the course of eight months, during which he creates a complex system of branching narratives that allows readers to engage in deep, meaningful choices that have real consequences for the stories’ plots and characters.

“It’s a very fun process, but it requires you to have a good plan outlined,” said Pelosini of writing interactive novels. “There is not much time for experimentation as you go.”

In the second “Demons” novel, “Demons of New York,” readers follow the story of Elizabeth, a young woman trying to escape a rigid, patriarchal nineteenth-century society.

“If the first novel in this series was about finding one’s nature, ‘Demons of New York’ is about fully accepting it,” revealed Pelosini. He continued, “My absolute favorite line in the story is, ‘Be the monster, be the witch, be the wonder.’ After we find out who we are, which is already quite hard, it comes a time when we have to accept the consequences of being honest to ourselves. Some people will not understand it, our family may reject us, society may even call you crazy, but the reward would be a life in the light of your true desire.”

With compelling themes that ring true to the universal human experience, it comes as no surprise that Lorenzo Pelosini’s “Demons” novels have been so well received by readers around the world. By the end of each of his interactive stories, fans find themselves clamoring for more — which is exactly why Pelosini has been commissioned to continue the tale and complete his first trilogy.

“I am very glad to announce that the third installment of ‘Demons’ is currently in the making,” exclaimed Pelosini. “It’ll be a bigger adventure, on an even wider canvas, for our friend Elizabeth. I cannot disclose any details, but I have prepared a major twist that I hope will make your head spin!”

If you haven’t begun reading the “Demons” series yet, or you need to catch up before the third installment is released later this Autumn, Lorenzo Pelosini’s tales can be found exclusively on Game Garden’s “Love Choice” app. Founded in 2009, Game Garden is a leading mobile and social game developer with eight titles and more than 27 million players around the world.

Since 2019, Pelosini and Game Garden’s partnership has proved fruitful. Pelosini’s total number of readers has recently reached eight million; but more importantly, he and Game Gardens have revolutionized the way stories are told and experienced through the exciting medium of interactive novels.

“Knowing that readers will interact with the novel makes the story even more real than it already feels,” remarked Pelosini. “I merely offer the choice, but you get to decide. Will you be brave or play it safe? Are you going to spur evolution or revolution? In games and stories, we find our true selves.”

For Lorenzo Pelosini, the themes presented in the “Demons” novels hit close to home. Just like Elizabeth in “Demons of New York,” Pelosini has experienced the journey and struggles of an immigrant making his way in a foreign land. As an author, however, Pelosini is no stranger to exploring new worlds — perhaps that’s why he is so adept at making his way into the hearts and minds of readers from all corners of the globe.
